The Howard Brown Health Center is the Midwest's largest lesbian, bi, gay, and transgender health organization. They promote the well-being of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender persons through the provision of health care and wellness programs, including clinical, educational, social service, and research activities. Howard Brown offers anonymous HIV testing, primary care services, a walk-in clinic, assistance for those coping with HIV, and a variety of groups and services through their Broadway Youth Center (for ages 24 and under).
The Center on Halsted, the Chicago area's community center for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) persons. The Center offers support networks and programming that meet the cultural, emotional, social, educational, and recreational needs of all LGBT persons and their allies - including you. They offer many weekly services for youth (ages 13-24) and their calendar features upcoming events for the month. Current services include support groups for youth and seniors; psychotherapy services; an info line for LGBT individuals and a hotline for HIV and STD concerns; prevention, treatment, and advocacy related to domestic violence; and a range of life-enrichment programs. Their main number is 773-472-6469, but they also feature a 24 hour LGBT Crisis Line at 773-871- CARE, and a HIV/AIDS hotline at 1-800-243-2437.
The Lesbian Community Cancer Project seeks to advance the health and quality of life for lesbian, bisexual and transgender women through advocacy and public education.
